Me(s)Me(s)

(an answer to David Alan Harvey’s request for a selfportrait)
Quick and dirty but the easiest and fastest fitting portrait I could make with 5 minutes left til the deadline …

My days are crazy: 4-6 lifes at the same time, lifes, that have nothing to do with each other. Different professions, even adopting different names for each. But days are short and the world is small so opportunity costs are immense. Living all those lifes I had none of my own any more and … I started meeting the right people at the wrong times. But I cannot change it. Every instance of myself looks into a different direction and has different needs. They love to work against each other because all of them are competing for the same 24 hours. So it is not always friendly – I do have to watch my back.

The picture, even if not very original, is very adequate. I just wish I could have found a quick way to look very different in every reflection. But then again … it is me. And the differences come from the inside.

I am hopeful … Photography is drawing us closer, that is one reason why I love it. Maybe one day we stop fighting and join our hands.
