Shadow ./. breaking & break marks on a bridge.
I have not posted anything for such a long time that I guess I am going a bit overboard. But then, in a way, I am still thinking about doing a story book about the fantastic corner of Frankfurt, where I am living right now.
So many ideas … so little time.

Guess I do have favorite spots.

Found this one yesterday while walking the dog through some darker areas of town. Does it not make you feel like “Spring” all the way?
Um … Maybe not. I will keep looking.
Nothing like walking the dog to get to know where you live – while chasing the season.

I am happy to hear that my submission was chosen to be included into Slideluck Potshow Nairobi, which will start tonight, January 16, 2010.
It was a very spontaneous idea from my part to submit some work and it definitively had to do with the fact that I still have so many nice images from Kenya on my harddrives, images that I did not include into that one exhibition in the European Parliament in 2007. So I felt this was a chance to show some more work and I am glad it worked out.
Special thanks to Tony Hunt for diving into the adventure of producing a sound for me. I know it is not easy to work for someone who knows too well what s/he wants but cannot do it her-/himself – especially if you just have one day for it. I loved the outcome though – fantastic job! :)
And many thanks to the never tired Slideluck Team! Congrats to all of the participants – I wish everybody a fantastic party tonight!
Wish I could be there.

The image above is not in the selection of work that I submitted but I had it already on the server and it belongs to the same body of work: a documentation of a cross coutry drive from Mosocho in the West of the Kenya to Nairobi. I did a lot of images during that extremely long car drive, and I do have various edits, some comprising people, some landscapes, some only showing painted fassades – some in color, some in b&w …
I am switching computers right now and backups onto external harddrives are currently running. I have about 12 of those lined up here and on the 4th from the right are the Kenya images that I submitted. If I do not forget, I might put up a little slideshow next week or so.
It felt like spring: very … floral!
Speaking of spring: Some ice cream company was celebrating their their 60th birthday by having a slide projection at the riverside … :-)

I was asked by an architect, if I could possibly make some photographs of the pavillons he had recently built in the main railwaystation in Frankfurt. As you need a special permit to walk around there with a camera and as I ended up getting one of these, I went there a little more often just for the fun of it.
Most of these pictures were taken with a little point&shoot.
(sorry, the gallery content was lost … I have yet to repair this entry)

We are sitting here right now and Tony is designing me a new place for my work. At present I am too shocked to really grasp it thoroughly.
On the other hand side, they are going to make a box club out of “our” hall … specifically for some teenagers in that problematic neighbourhood. So even if the loss still hurts like hell, it is for a good deed.

I met Tony in 2006 during a cowsession (yeah, well, that is how it was called – it was also a birthday party of a friend of mine) in Offenbach. It was such a secluded place that the taxi guy almost gave up before finally getting me there – it was a huge hall at the end of the old and mosly useless harbour – and there was a little sign: “cowsession”. This hall immediately fascinated me for its surreality and it was rented by … yeah … Antohny Hunt, the host of this party.
I admit I had a hidden agenda as soon as I first saw that place: I wanted to attach myself to that – I NEEDED to rent part of this marvel … A place, like twighlight … something out of the normal boundaries of time and space.
Today I am sitting here with Tony and we are setting up a contract: I will be renting part of that hall – a gallery – as a studio.
My face is not enough to host the smile I feel inside of me!
