The Postcard-Project in Italy
August 2008
This project was born in Tuscany, where I participated in one of David Alan Harvey’s “On The Road” workshops.
My concept was to turn around the idea of tourists writing picture postcards to family and friends, by asking complete strangers, residents of a place, to write me, the tourist, a picture postcard to my place in Germany. On this occasion I would be taking a portrait of them, which I would be sending them back in return.
You can see the results of the workshop here.
The TPW workshop with David was only for a week. But he strongly advised me to contemplate the possibility of proceeding with the project. Which I did with some slight alterations.

UPDATED VERSION / “Home” in Frankfurt
April 2010
I am presently working on an updated version of “A Stranger’s Wish”, called “Home”. It will have a more universal approach than the original Tuscany version. This larger theme will allow me to pursue this project on a long term basis.
I will post a link to a slideshow of some of the new work with translated text here in the first week of June 2011.
