I am currently having a deviation programmed for this website.
Due to exciting “unforseeable circumstances” there now emerged some documentary projects very dear to me, that do not quite go together with the rest of my work. I am thus splitting the website, presenting my more artistic/mixed media work on the “light”-layout and the photographic-projects on the “dark”-layout. “Light” and “Dark” therefore primary naming the Layout, but of course … there are other possible interpretations.
I will be adding more information after the splitting is completed.

The image above is a screenshot taken from the video shown at my current exhibition in Frankfurt. It includes some of the images from my original Kursk-Project. You can see it online here.
These images are NOT edited. The look&feel is the result of a broken tv-set combined with file-type changes for the video-format. It was a conscious decision not to correct the colours but to leave them as given.

Some weeks ago I was asked by a friend and cameraman Stephan Boden, if I would like to contribute to a book about the four cooks that founded the experimental restaurant named GASTRAUM in Hamburg, Germany, and their philosophy about food and it’s preparation.
I went to the GASTRAUM’s website and … what should I say? … It looked very “special” indeed … An extremely unconventional website for a group of young cooks, who each went through the toughest and most highly appreciated educations to become what they are now.
I was puzzled about what to make out of it, but after I looked at the videos on the site, it was easy to understand. And I could not say no to Steven’s question! In fact I was extremely glad to be able to take part in this crusade by helping out with some pictures. It just seems to make a lot of sense.
